Terms of service
The service
ApexLedger provides web-based accounting, payroll and practice software to organisations in Canada. An organisation buys seats; a seat is one named person with their own sign-in. There is no limit on the number of company files an organisation keeps.
Trial and payment
Every edition starts with a free one-month trial. After the trial, seats are billed per person per month in Canadian dollars plus applicable taxes: Business $39, Bookkeeper $59, Full accountant $79. Paying yearly is 20% less. Founding firms (the first 20 to sign up before 31 December 2026) pay half price for their first six months. You can add or remove seats at any time; a removed seat stops being billed at the end of its month.
Your data
Your books belong to you. You can download any company file at any time, and we delete your data when you close your account, as described in our privacy page. We keep it in Canada.
Your responsibilities
- Keep sign-ins personal: one person per seat, no shared passwords.
- The software prepares returns, slips and reports from what you enter. Reviewing them and filing with the CRA and provincial bodies remains your professional responsibility.
- Do not use the service to store data you are not entitled to hold.
Availability
We aim for the service to be available at all times and take nightly backups. Planned maintenance is announced inside the application in advance. We are not liable for indirect losses; our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the previous twelve months.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice inside the application. Either side may end the agreement at the end of any billing month.
